A fun Day at the Track
A fantastic Day at the Track was enjoyed by the Class of '60 at Santa Anita Park, Sunday February 27th, 2011
Sunny skies and snow capped San Gabriel Mountains made a perfect setting for last weekend's event. Great weather, good food, friendship, and serendipitous good luck made for a memorable day. The excitement came in the 3rd race, as Owner Bob and Luanne Bean's long shot, Golden Augusto won, paying $131. Predictably everyone in our group was holding a winning ticket, and then we all joined Bob and Luanne in Victory Circle for a celebration and photo with "Franklin High School Class of '60 Reunion" in lights . After the victory celebration, we enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of The Bean Barn Racing Stables, and a chance to meet Golden Augusto and his stablemates. This was a win, win, win day for all!
