Hello.  Here's my update:

I will be seeing you later this month at reunion.  I look forward to renewing friendships and meeting those I didn't know well in school.

So sad the old Franklin Auditorium is gone.  Through my job at Washington Mutual I was able to visit Franklin twice in 2005.  The lady I was with took my photo in auditorium. She was from another country and, while we were walking the outside walkways. I asked her if she knew what the round black spots were on the cement.  She guessed pebbles.  I explained they were bits of chewing gum.  She was incredulous.
The second floor hallway had the same linoleum, the bathroom same fixtures, same black seats. The floors and dividers were still marble, As I walked along the hallway, my footsteps sounded the same as in 1960 even though I wore heels instead of flats.

From 1974-1979 I lived only three blocks away.  Because of horrific neighbors, one of which I had arrested, we moved to Azusa.  This year I moved to Ontario, Ca.

Hello Everyone.

I wish I had attended the last reunion.  Hope I will be able to attend next year.
I have had a good life.  Yes there have been many ups and downs, but nothing too bad.
Celebrated my 23rd birthday in Rome on a 28-day tour. I was given a surprise party by my travel roommate. I enjoyed visiting 7 countries.

I have only traveled to Washington, Nevada, Montana and Oregon since then.  If I was to travel out of US again, my next location would be Scotland.  My younger sister, Irene, who also attended Franklin ('72), moved to Waikiki March 2013 so I might take a trip there.

I have two children, Celia 44 and Robert 43.  They each have two daughters. I do travel around Southern CA.  One of my last jobs allowed me to travel to Santa Barbara and Washington a few times for conventions.  After my first two jobs, my third one was at Pasadena City Hall. One of my favorite jobs were when I worked in school districts with children from K-8th grades.  Another favorite was setting up the ESL program at a middle school here in Azusa where I live.

My hobbies are writing and painting.

I wanted to write sooner but things have been in turmoil here.
First, my wife Judy passing and then unexpectedly, my best friend John Heredia, all within two months of each other.
So just let me start by saying, I would like to thank all of the Committee members for letting me be part of something that became a very special memory for me. With the monthly meetings, the great conversation, laughs, that went along with all the planning. Thank you all, very much.
As for all the people that came to the Reunion. You made the Committee very proud that we all lived and played together in a great time of our lives, and that we all came to shared some of those memories.
And last,I have to say thanks to all of the friends that Judy had a chance to visit with at the reunion. This was only the third or fourth she had attended. She was so looking forward with great anticipation, in seeing many of her friends, and talking to some that she had not seen since Franklin. As she stood at the table with all here friends around here, I wanted here to have a great time (uninterrupted). So I just stood back talking to John, and I would glance back and watch her smiling, talking and laughing. It was then that I knew that I was truly blessed to have known and loved one special lady.
This is the memory that I will selflessly
                            keep for me.

                     Thank You All      Joe

I am late in sending this message, but I wanted to be sure and thank all the committee and all who were involved in delivering a wonderful 50th Reunion.  I so enjoyed visiting with classmates that I hadn\'t seen in 50 years.  I am just sorry that there was not more time.  The Welcome Book is wonderful.  It was great reading about so many of you and what has been going on in your lives over the years.  God Bless you all and do keep in touch.

Words don’t often fail me, but I’m having trouble coming up with enough superlatives to describe my feelings about the weekend!  Fantastic, remarkable, fun, interesting….just fill in the blanks! The Welcome Booklet was done beautifully and I intend to, not only read it often, but even try to communicate with a few people how impressed I am with what they did with their lives.  Leroy’s tribute was spot-on!  What an uplifting surprise it was to read about everyone’s accomplishments after their start with little ol’ Franklin.    …my hat’s off to the Committee for pulling together and pulling off such a stupendous success.  Can’t think of a thing that wasn’t perfect!  Food was great, decorations were gorgeous, the book was unbelievable, and the company was just the best!   THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

This was a GREAT reunion ! !   Being able to visit with classmates for the first time in 40 or 50 years is priceless.  Only sorry we couldn\'t have contacted a few hundred more classmates. Thanks to all of the hardworking committee members who were determined to make this event a success.

Was one terrific reunion to say the least.  Kudos to the committee who did so much work getting this wonderful celebration together.  And the frosting on the cake was to be able to see and visit with those I haven\'t seen in 25 to 50 years and reconnecting with them.  God bless you all.

Is this going to be fun or WHAT?  I\'m sitting here at home in Reno, NV and recalling some of the crazy happenings at "Franklin." Not that I was one of them, of course!  We GOTTA TALK.

Get there safely.  See you soon.

My wife and I have really enjoyed working on the reunion committee and am looking forward to our 50th Reunion.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone and being your Master of Ceremonies for the 3rd time (10th, 25th, and now the 50th!). I should tell you this has been the only steady job I’ve had in the last 50 years. Thank you for having me back!

Not sure I can make it  but but will really try. Would be great to see so many of you after so many years.  Last reunion I attended was 25th.  Seems like yesterday.  Seeing all of the names sure brings back fond memories.  I remember sitting in the auditorium when we were voting on when to have our 1st reunion. Can I go back there just for a day?

Wow! What a time warp. All the names and faces bring back so many memories. Are folks like myself from the S\'61 Class welcome to attend? I attended the 1980 and 1990 reunions, but those were for multiple years as I recall. Would love to see a lot of you folks, if other classes are OK. In any event, it looks like this will be quite a remarkable party, or series of parties. Best to all...

Hi Everyone!
It will be wonderful to see and visit with all of you in October. My wife and I have enjoyed living in Las Vegas for thirteen years. I know it will be very interesting catching up on what everyone else has been doing the past fifty years since we left Franklin High school.

Thanks to the committee for putting this all together - the event itself, this website, even (especially!) the music.   I don\'t know if I can manage to make it all the way back to California from North Carolina, where my wife (of 40 years!) and I now live in retirement, but at least it\'s easier than getting there from Hong Kong, where I taught for the previous 18 years.
