In brief: Since graduating from Franklin High School, I completed my PhD in Metallurgy at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico. Forty years ago I married a wonderful foreign exchange student from Mexico and have been happily married ever since. After graduating, I taught at Washington State University for 3 years then joined Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Have held several positions ending up as a deputy Division leader for Science and Technology of the Nuclear Materials Technology division and prior to my retirement, as Chief Scientist of that division. Have organized and taught over 100 short courses and served on several national/international committees. Authored or co-authored more that 78 technical publications, co-authored four books, and contributed three chapters to a fourth book and have 14 granted patents. I have several national and international awards, among them a distinguished achievement award from my university alumni association, a fellow appointment for the American Society of Materials International organization, and an Alexander von Humboldt – US Senior Scientist Award from Germany, where we spent a one-year sabbatical. Have been a keynote speaker to the US Attorney Generals yearly meeting at the White House Conference Center in Washington DC. Since my retirement I have been active as a visiting scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and have been consulting for a mechanical testing company in Germany. Anticipating a great reunion and catching up on all these past years – Thanks reunion committee. |

I have been a self-employed proprietor for many years and within the last couple of years, I have added to my repertoire being a consultant. I truly don’t know which is more work. Actually guiding the proverbial ship or telling people how to guide their own ship. Living close to Santa Anita Race track, I can say that I do like the ponies and I enjoy frequenting all of the race tracks in the circuit. With Del Mar being 2nd in line after Santa Anita as my favorites. I have one daughter and one grandson. My daughter is also self-employed. My grandson is a Premier Banker, who recently acquired his series 7, which gives him the ability to be a stockbroker. One of my many regrets is the loss of my husband and friend to all, Frank Longo. He passed away March of 2008. Within the last couple of years, I have been slowly learning the art of wine tasting. California keep your oak and bring on the steel barrels. . . Cheers |

It CAN'T be 50 years. Youth is truly wasted on the young ! Lived in Silicon valley for 40 years now... working in electronics. Two children - both in Nursing, and four granchidren about to enter the labor market-ugh. Jean and I bought an old adobe house and I have become plumber, electrician, carpenter and general handiman. Love wood working as a hobby, traveling as an avocation, and my Iphone for most everthing else. Good health but poor golf(er). |

Comment: Shortly after graduation I married my High School Sweetheart (Yep that would be Stanley Robert Houck)... We went our separate ways a few years later and to this day remain good friends and stay in touch! I married again and became a widow 2 1/2 years ago. I keep busy with my job at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden; 7 grandchildren and always looking for fun things to do... The last reunion I attended was the 40 year. I am very excited to attend this reunion & see everyone after such a long time .... It will be a great memorable weekend! Thanks again Reunion Committee. |

Comment: After graduation from high school to 1970 I worked for CTS Electronics in South Pasadena. Then for the next 15 years I was a truck driver for Roy Miller Freight Lines. After working 23 years for Temple City Unified School District, I retired in 2008. My wife, Jan was a graduate of South Pasadena High School, class of 1962. She is a retired Secretary also from Temple City Unified. We have two children, a son, Jeff and a daughter, Diana. Retirement has been great! We enjoy family get-togethers, relaxing on the beach at Carlsbad, gardening, and golf. We celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary in September. We will attend Jan's family reunion in Mississippi this month and then spend a few days in New Orleans. Looking forward to the 50th reunion! |

I’ve been single and living in Laguna Niguel for 34 years. Finally, now that my four children are grown and I’m retired, a long overdue vacation back to Latvia was possible. Last April, Mara and I with our daughters, Susan and Kim, started our journey in Prague, and then went to Latvia (our birth country) and on to St. Petersberg. Unfortunately, the volcano in Iceland forced us to scramble & take detours to get home. But it still was a trip of a lifetime! I have only one grandson, Garret. He’s 17 and with a 4.87 grade point average, I’m very proud to say the least. Family takes up most of my time, but I manage to travel now and then. I enjoy my home and where I live and all the busy projects I come up with |
